I really appreciate it. I then decided to run a repair of Vista, took forever and finally the original CD was working, I could see the thumbnails, for about 30 seconds, it suddenly changed back to the generic picture placeholder picture. If I do a refresh you can see the thumbnails loading, but as soon as it ran through all the pictures the generic image is displayed. The user also looked at various ways of working with these images, and the Microsoft Office Picture Manager does display the thumbnails correctly.
So now the user is happy just to use this program, I made it default under file associations. The problem persists but I have to report that the user is satisfied. Best regards, Shawn. Inspirational Phrase with Attractive Feminine Guy. If I associate the file with another program say Windows Photo Gallery , the thumbnail will display properly. I have tested this while deleting the thumbnail cache to make sure I'm not looking at old images. This is important because if a file is associated with X4, the thumbnails may look OK because Windows is still reading the cache.
There can be several reasons why that happening Did you by any chance installed X5 trial or something like that and than uninstalled it?
Anyway, try uninstall CD completely not modify or repair - won't work and after restart of your comp, install Draw again watch to check right boxes when asked to select formats for designation and thumbnails preview , and than try I did search the forum, and googled the rest of the world, but I didn't find any solutions which is why I referenced the most appropriate thread here and bumped it.
I certainly didn't see any posts where anyone solved it by re-installing. No I haven't tried X5 but I did have a pirated version of X4 that I uninstalled before installing a legal version. Yes, I was duped. So as far as your suggestion is concerned, mine was a fresh install, only around a week ago.
