Autocad 2010 convert 3d polyline to polyline

Creating a ribbon for Partial Customization files in the CUI, and I am trying to setup some buttons for existing polylines for example underground electric and overhead electric. When writing the macro what are some ideas for creating a polyline with the proper linetype for that particular object rather than changing the layer in layer properties dialogue.

I have a closed polyline that i can add the area to via a field in mtext using the options under area. I would like the area to always be rounded down to the nearest square meter. Is the a way to do this via the acfields. I have to go through quite a few drawings and extract the attribute vales of the whole drawing and then a subset contained within a couple of polylines. The whole drawing is Ok as I can use at out or the data extraction, but its the ones contained within a polyline.

How do I do that? I have run into a little trouble in trying to figure out how to create a arc polyline with entmake. I've put together the following and it works great with command 'pline'. I just want to know how to do it with entmake. I am writing a routine that will place a piece of text at a specified point along a polyline.

My problem is to determine the angle for the text. It needs to be the same as the segment of the polyline that it falls on. Just can't get my head around how to get that angle? I can get a list of the vertex point of the polyline, but how do I determine the segment the point falls on? I have a inserted block with 4 tags for Length, Thickness, Elevation and Width.

Each internal line placed in a third width. I continue learning It is easy with the Properties palette but, because I have lots of drawings to fix, I want to write a lisp routine. I have a drawing which contains about 'areas'. These areas are closed polylines.

The new 3D polylines thus formed will look exactly …. The new polyline will take on the elevation of the start point of the 3D polyline. Press Enter. The 2D3DPOLY command changes the selected lightweight polyline to the 3D version of polyline without changing its geometry and appearance.

One of the most common is Polylines to Lines. Lines enable editing of small sections in slightly different maner to polylines. In order to convert an existing multisegmented polyline to a line. Type PE on the command line and press Enter to start polyline edit command, the command line will prompt you to select objects for making changes. Click on the object which you want to change to polyline, you can also select multiple objects by selecting Multiple from the command prompt.

Once you have made selection a new prompt will appear on the command line stating that selected object is not a polyline do you want to convert it as shown in the image below. Type Y and press enter twice to convert the object into a polyline and exit this command. To convert a polyline into true spline type PE and press enter, then select polyline which you want to convert and select spline from prompt appearing on the command line.

Is there a way to convert a flat 3D polyline into a polyline? Message 2 of 9. Do you mean a polyline with 0 elevation or to a lightweight polyline with elevation? Message 3 of 9. Message 4 of 9. Message 5 of 9. Thanks for the tip, but USD is too expensive for me. Is there a cheaper, or better yet, a free way to do it?
